I bled for 4 too
why not call your HV or midwife tomorrow and get some RL advice

IME that's normal, and it can stop and start up again too, especially if you do something strenuous. If you are worried, get checked out.

then a week off.

upm to 6 weeks is normal

if it has stopped and then restarted or you are passing clots or have any pain,,or there is an offensive smell to the lochia ..then could well be an infection

if it suddenly becomes a bright red loss after a time of being pale or light .l..then it is an indication of you doing too much!

Depends on the person. I had more at the start. Sometimes it took up to about 6 weeks to fade away completely, but not so much at the end.

hermykne · 22/10/2006 15:57

i think i may have been 4/5 weeks after 1st and 2/3 after 2nd

cant understand these people you hear off who have sex when baby is 3 weeks old

Mum2FunkyDude · 22/10/2006 15:59

mine was on for about 6 weeks, then on an off for another 6 weeks, then nothing for 5.5 months

Heavy for 2 weeks. Thought I had finished for a couple of days & then continued to bleed until 7 weeks.

i had my baby 4 weeks and 2 days ago. my bleeding just finished over the weekend. And Ive been REALlY taking it easy, I mean, its my first baby so no other kids, and my in-laws live close by and have cooked my dinner every night. I dread to think how long the bleeding would have lasted if I hadnt had loads of help, because I noticed if I overdid it at all (by hanging out the washing or something , then Id start bleeding more heavily, so Im sure it would have laster longer.

I lasted for about 6 weeks and then 2 weeks after that my period arrived!
