Night sweats

Hi,
Had an emcs for our twins 10 days ago, and now I'm waking up every night absolutely drenched in sweat. Last night I had to change my pjs 3 times! Anyone else had this? How long does it last? What is it? Hormones or fluid retention finally departing? No temp, so not an infection. Thanks :)

I've had this after both babies - one elcs and one natural. Midwife said it's your body getting rid of the excess fluid. It lasted about 2-3 weeks for me, both times. Congrats on your twins!! X

No one tells you of these horrors do they haha! It's horrible but doesn't last long. Congratulations on your babies Flowers

Thanks for that, Dr Google (I know!) had suggested that it might last for 6 or more weeks. Glad to know it may/ could be on the way out.

Mine lasted about 3 weeks, initially thought it was just as hospital was hot. Still occasionally feel a bit warmer at night at 8 weeks but the dripping sweat is well over!

I had an EMCS. The night sweats lasted about 8 horrible weeks. I ended up sleeping on towels so that I could change them in the night.

You have my sympathy... It was rank!
