Can you guess how fast a second birth will be if induced with first?

I know these are always 'how long is a piece of string' type questions but it's just general curiosity.

With DD1 I started having very low, but manageable, aches on the Saturday night and went in on the Sunday morning to be told I was 4cm. They kept me in but because my waters had gone on the Friday night they put me straight on the drip to hurry the process along. 4 hours after being put on the drip she was with us.

Basically I'm just wondering whether there's any way to gauge how fast/slow it would have been as a regular birth? The midwife seemed shocked that she arrived so quickly and had been preparing me for a good 6 hours more so I'm not sure if that meant it was a 'quick' labour or whether having had the drip renders it all a bit moot?

I'm mainly curious because if DP is away when I go into labour this time I don't want him to rush back needlessly if I'll have hours, but similarly don't want him to take his time if it's going to be a quickie. Grin

Any way of knowing?

I doubt there's any way of knowing, but second labours do tend to go faster than natural first ones anyway. I was induced on the drip for my first and labour from first contraction to delivery was just under 2.5 hours. I also didn't realise how unusual this was!
Second natural labour was 4.5 hours start to finish, and third was 3.5 hours.

Omg you so lucky ladies :-) my first labour was 18 hours but second..... 26 hours :'( i wish you quickly from all my heart :-*

My first was 36 hours at home (not active labour, but intense every 10 minutes, so no sleep), then 12 in hospital, then 12 on the drip.

Second was 9, third was four!

First was induced and lasted 48 hours
Second was natural and was 16 hours of manageable pre-labour and six hours of active labour
Third was induced and was 40 mins from first pessary to birth
