CS staple removal

I'm due to have my staples removed tomorrow (day 5) and honestly a little apprehensive that I'm just going to come undone. If you had staples removed, did they put steristrips on afterwards? Any other hints?

I had stitches proper old fashioned ones, sometimes they are beaded. First few were removed day 6 post partum, then the others a day or so after. My wound was closed.
Don't worry they know what they are doing.

I was stapled and I remember thinking it was way too early to have them taken out and kept thinking I was going to burst open in the shower but it was absolutely fine :)
I don't have any other tips than 'have faith'

The top layer that you are having stitches removed from heals very quickly and as long as it looks sealed (healing normally so far) all should be fine. The real work is being done by dissolving stitches in all the layers underneath the skin.

My hints - keep the scar clean, make sure it's dry properly after showering, and big knickers and soft stretchy leggings (or tights) that go right over and past the scar are so much better than anything else. Low knickers/jeans etc can rub on the scar which can cause irritation leading to infection.
