Clitoral pain after giving birth

Looking for some advice and possibly a cure?

I had my baby 11 days ago. For the past few days my clitoris has been really sore and achey. I had a graze and stitches from the birth but this pain hurts more than the graze and stitches put together!

I haven't got a clue why its just started hurting but its really painful. Anybody else had this? If so, how did you fix it?

Hi, congratulations on you new arrival!Grin
Im affraid i cant offer much advise on this as i didn't experience this, did you tear or was cut? I only ask because a friend of mine tore towards the clit and had to be stitched! She had a few problems with the stitches and ended up going to her doctor who re stitched! I think your best bet is to see your gp hun! Good luck and i hope it getts better soon x

I had this after I gave birth last April. I never worked out what it was but it did go eventually after a few weeks. I'm guessing it was bruising. It was bloody painful though. Hope it eases up soon.

Mine was sore too, especially when I sat down to wee! The pain started to go away after a few weeks (like all the soreness and tenderness in the area) and I was fine after a month or so. If the pain doesn't start to subside in the next week, then I agree you should see your GP just to be sure. x

I tore, very grateful I wasn't cut! Yup mines worse after weeing solstice . I spoke to midwife today and she said if it doesn't get better soon then I could of dislocated my pelvis and may need physiology. I'm going to give it another week and if it isn't any better I'm going to visit my gp. Fingers crossed it goes soon, its awful.

I had a tear up the side of mine that I refused to let them stitch - I'd had enough by then and tbh I just couldn't face having a needle near it. It was very swollen and very uncomfortable to sit down for about 3-4 weeks after the birth. My MW referred me to the day unit and they gave me antibiotics as it had become infected. I'm now 8 weeks post birth and everything is fine. No pain at all any more and DTD is fine thank goodness! Sorry if tmi but that was the thing I was most worried about Wink
