This is my first post so I should introduce myself before I start with the questions! I'm mum to a 6yr old boy who was born by elective c/s due to being breech presentation. I then went on to have a VBAC with my 3yr old little girl - very straightforward birth.
Anyway, the reason for my post is that I've just got back from a 35 week scan to check placental positioning. The good news is that my placenta is a relatively safe 4.3cm from the cervix. However, looks like this lttle monkey has decided to follow in her big brother's footsteps (literally!) and is in a breech position. The sonographer thinks that the size and low position of the placenta have probably made feet first the most comfortable position for her. Oh, and she is also measuring at 37 weeks so turning of her own accord isn't loking very likely.
I have an appointment with my consultant tomorow to discuss what happens next, so I just wondered if anybody has any experience of vbac with a breech baby, or if anybody has any references that say whether this is something that should be encouraged or avoided at all costs?
Feel quite lucky that I loved my elective section, loved my vbac even more so am quite happy to go with either option. Just want to know what is generally considered to be the best/safest option for the baby and will push for that at tomorrow's appointment.
Thanks in advance
