Overdue and miserable :-( what worked for you?

40+4 wks today. I know it's only a little bit over but this pregnancy has been stressful and due to a previous section my options are natural labour or elcs - which I'm desperate to avoid. Consultant is great and isn't imposing any hard and fast section date - yet. But Mondays appointment is likely to change that. So what got your dc on the move? Willing to try anything! Thanks.

Also, lots of stop start labour in the early days are often to do with the baby not being in the most optimal position and your body working to turn them.

I always worried that if induction spend up the expulsion of the baby, it would be forcing him out at the wrong angle. He was just 8lb 12oz and took an hour to be born from when I first actually admitted it was labour and called the midwife (homebirth) and I had not one scratch from delivery. His position was perfect.

Positive story ... I was overdue. Had a sweep. Induction booked they told me no way would tge sweep work.

That afternoon I had a tummy ache.

That evening a baby. Hardly made it to the hospital! In the pool, out pops bubs!

The womb is mysterious! FX for you!!

Meeting went well and we agreed a fair plan. She's prepared to give me until Friday to do things naturally, had a sweep too, which really was no where near as bad as I imagined! Oh, and I think the sweep has worked!!!!Wink

The sweep gave me 7 hours of intense early labour that stopped just short of moving into established labour :-( having another sweep today.
If nothing happens by Friday morning, I'm having my waters broken to hopefully get things going for real.

Can I join you please?

My baby was due on Tuesday, so at 40 +2 and getting fed up! I've had severe HG throughout this pregnancy so it feels very unfair that I'm still throwing up several times a day when he SHOULD have come out by now!!

Teatimecakes - so no matter what, you'll have your baby in your arms by Saturday!! So exciting xx

Saw my MW yesterday, they won't give me a sweep till next Wednesday the 10th which will be 8 days over. So I'm really hoping things start naturally.

Hi all, only just found this thread thanks to sidebar thing.
I'm 40+10 today and pretty fucking fucked off.
I've tried sex, walking, curries, acupuncture, nipple stimulation, bribery ('you'll get more Christmas presents if you come out soon'), attempted jinxing of lovely plans (dinner plans, Christmas tree shopping, full day out at Ikea) and more, still nowt.
I really want a homebirth and the pool is sitting mocking me.
I will pay handsomely for someone to come and magic baby out of me!!!!
Hope all goes well for you OP

Clary sage oil worked for me twice. In bath and massaged into bump with carrier oil. Recommended by mw who used to give out her own tiny bottles of it back in the day.

Good luck all who are waiting.

I've a quick question; tonight is the first night for what feels like months that I haven't woken up needing the toilet at all. Did this happen to anyone else? 40+11 today Sad Sad Sad
