I am booked for an elcs today as I am about 11/12 days overdue. Last night I started contractions at 8pm and had contractions lasting about 30 seconds long and about 7-8 mind apart. This was all last night and I had to use tens machine to get any sleep but contractions were waking me up. I had a show this morning and went in to hospital but apparently cervix still closed and very far back. I'm not sure whether to go ahead with c section today or to give my body a chance to start the labour over the next day. I was desperate to have a vbac and I'm not sure if I will regret not waiting. However he worst case scenario is that I will wait and still end up having a emcs anyway as my labour doesn't progress. I'm really sick of being pregnant and would love to see baby but am scared of the major surgery. Help!

Personally I would wait and see what happens for a little while longer, you've come this far. Go with your gut instinct. Good luck x

I had contractions like that on and off for about 5 days before I went in to labour proper. Could you hang on that long? It doesn't necessarily mean it's about to happen. It could be tonight, but it could be in a while longer.

Just seen the time, you may well have had the CS by now! Congrats if you have!
