Sweep in the morning, full-on contractions started in the evening.

Good luck!

Sweep at 11am but was already 4cm dilated at this point. Labour started one hour later Grin

Ooh can I join! I'm 38+3 and I had a sweep at 2.30 this afternoon. I was 2cm dilated when I was examined! I so hope this is it! Been having tightenings since really.
Good luck!
I feel like I'm gaining a labour friend now Smile

Just an update. Sweep at 3.30pm, contractions started at 7pm... and stopped! They were regular 5-7 mins apart lasting 1min but never got very painful & stopped later in the evening. Oh well Smile

Nothing going here either Angry
Although, I think I am losing my mucus plug so that's good. I'm booked in for another sweep on Friday but I'm hoping for some action before then!

I had an attempted sweep at 41+3, the midwife couldn't perform it properly as my cervix wasn't 'favourable'. Went into labour the next day, so you never know :)

Madallie · 29/11/2014 00:13

Both times had a sweep early afternoon. Both times was told cervix wasn't favourable and I still had a while to wait. First time waters broke at 4am next morning, second time contractions started about 2am!!

RosieProbert · 29/11/2014 11:37

I had a tantrum on Monday afternoon after trying to go to the shops and having a terrible stitch like pain.
Went to mau at the hosp and had another sweep and my waters went an hour later on the obs ward.
They didn't believe me how strong my contractions were but about half hour later I was 4cm. That was 5.30 pm, dd was born at 12.21 :)

Had sweep, 12 hours later latent labour started, real labour started about 24 hours later. 11 hours after that DS born. So it kick started things but still took a loooong time to get to the actual birth!
