4 weeks after c-section..

How did you feel? Having an ELCS week commencing 24th of this month. Wondering how I'll be feeling at Christmas, DH is asking about Christmas Day plans and I'm unsure what to plan cause unsure how I'll feel!
Do you think id be able to....
Have a drink?
Wear normal clothes?
Have a full day of socialising?!
I know everyone's different jut want some experiences :)

A lot of those things depend on if you are breastfeeding or not as opposed to whether cs or vb. at 4 weeks I wasn't in pain but still wasn't doing heavy lifting or driving. I got a funny draggy feeling when turning on my side, and the wound was still tender. By 8-9 weeks I felt totally back to normal.

I was driving, back at zumba classes and still bf. I felt fine. Although it's not the same for everyone.

By 4 weeks I was completely fine.. Still bleeding though as I bled for a few weeks & went on to period from that.

I've had two CS and would have said yes to all those questions with CS2 which was planned and found it harder after CS1 which was an emergency. Build in lots of options in your plans and see how you feel closer to the time as annoyingly everyone is different. Whilst I don't wish a non-sleeping baby on anyone, you might find your newborn causes more disruption to your Xmas plans than your CS does.

I had my baby my c section in August.

Felt pretty much fine after a week. Was driving and went out for a meal at 8 days.

Just to add, it was an emergency section and I was and still am bf-ing.

I had an EMCS two weeks ago. I'm back in my normal tops but wearing soft waisted skirts. If I overdo it my scar hurts a bit but nothing unmanageable. I'm not doing heavy lifting or driving but feeling better every day.

I would find a full day of socialising really tiring but we had a bit of a rough time after (hospital for a week) so didn't really get to relax at home for a while.

ELCS in April 2012 here.

By that May, I was sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine wearing a loose pre-pg cotton dress. I was still tender but certainly not in pain; still swollen but it was subsiding. A week later I was driving amd was looking after both dds (then age 3 and nb).

I had an EMCS and was feeling fine and driving after a week. Just had a kind of pulling feeling if I twisted sharply and after a long day it would ache a bit but otherwise I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I recovered.

I have had 2 c sections now and was pretty much back to normal after 4 weeks with both. However, I was tired from waking in the night with baby and if you are planning to breast feed then you may not want to drink to much or feel up to socialising all day.

I would plan in an option to be able to find a quite room that you can retreat to and relax for a bit during the day with baby. You can also use this to feed if that's what you are planning to do.

I was up and about properly on day 6, but you do get hit with exhaustion in the early days. I recommend you really take it easy for the first week. Strictly rest and regular walks, no more than that. Lots of water!

I think you will easily be able to have a drink, wear normal clothes (probably not skinny jeans) and enjoy a day of socialising, but that first couple of weeks of rest is essential. Xx

I'd say no to all those things. 2 sections here.

A small drink was fine, but I was literally floored by more than a few mouthfuls.
Couldn't wear normal clothes. Boobs were too big and scar was still tender so I was happier in maternity leggings.
Full day out, I couldn't. I managed 2 hours at a wedding on my doorstep 4 weeks after my ELCS and felt exhausted and came home before the meal (pah ).

I was at the gym at 12 weeks after both sections. But still tender and tired at 4 weeks, much happier in pj's at home.

Have a drink? Tucked in to a glass as soon as home from hospital!

normal clothes? (back in pre preg clothes about 2 weeks later (both times) think this prob depends more on how much weight you gained rather than the CS (avoid rubbing waistands though

Have a full day of socialising?! From as soon as I was home and settled (so about a week) Went to theme park 3 weeks post CS.

I was back running 5ks by 5 weeks but I ran til I was 37 Wks so was quite fit anyway.
