hi there i hope there are some mums out there that could help me.

i live in maidenhead Berkshire and this will be my 4th baby but i have only just moved to the are and am unsure of what the hospitals are like in this area.
we have been to wycombe hospital for the kids but not the maternity unit.
so does anyone have any advice.i have had 1 c section but then 2 normal deliveries so i dont think i am of high risk.

thanks kelly 13 weeks today

Hi there, i had my baby at the isis birth centre which is a midwife led unit within wexham park, it has only been open for a year and is lovely with home from home style birthing rooms.

If you wanted an epidural you would have to go top labour ward, which is not as new and pretty but has all the equipment for a more complicated birth and is consultsant led.

If you decided to use the birth centre but in labour changed your mind/weren't progressing etc. then you can easily be transfered to labour ward which is directly downstairs.

Wexham does have alot of medical equipment a very good scbu (friends baby was there for a while) an early pregnancy clinic (but i supposed your passed that stage now) and a featal monitoring unit.

I don't know about wycombe so i cant comment about there. /tours of the maternity department are run every sunday so you could pop along and have a look round. It normally starts about ten but ring on the day as if they ate busy it might be brought forward or delayed slightly.

Otherwise any questions about wexham i can do my best to answer.
