Labour related back pain

I've heard some women experience some or sometimes most of their pain in their back during labour.

For those of you who have experienced this, where is your back was the pain? And was it predominately on one side or evenly spread?

I had a back labour, didn't get a single tummy contraction. My DD was back-to-back (and twisted up, and all manner of other complications but that's another story).

The pain for me was like intense period pain; a sort of girdle of pain from my lower waist to my coccyx and all over from my left hip to my right.

My advice would be to not have a back labour
