transverse at 31 weeks

I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my second child. First one moved around a lot and was in several different positions but ended up engaged and I had a natural birth.
This one has been in transverse position since at least 20 weeks and is not budging.
Should I begin to worry? I'm terrified of hospitals and the thought of a c-section and staying in hospital for several days freaks me out!

Hi ya, it's too early for you to worry about it!
Mine was the same at 31, I panicked too.
I saw the midwife last week and he is now engaged.
(37 weeks) all that panic for nothing! I never even felt him moving down into that position.
Good luck

dd was transverse solidly till about 35-36 weeks, then flipped to head down.

Her little sister is currently transverse at 30+ weeks and I'm hoping she'll do the same! Though I ended up with a cs last time anyway, so I'm not even going to worry about her position this time...

Forgot to say - with dd1, I did spend a fair bit of time on hands and knees in evening whilst watching TV: boring, but maybe it paid off!

even at 34 weeks, this one was breech, transverse, oblique, cephalic - generally all of the above in any 24 hour period

don't worry, there's plenty of time for your baby to get his head down and stay there!!

I was in the same position as you at 34 weeks and was very worried that baby wouldn't turn. Went to see midwife at 37 weeks and sure enough baby was in head down position. There is still plenty of time for he/she to turn. Also, I'm sure your hospital will offer you ECV to try and turn the baby if position is still transverse at 37 weeks.
Good luck.
