Itchy Leg 4 Months after Pethidine Shot

Evening all

I was sat here mindlessly scratching my right leg when I realised that yes, 4 months after having my baby my leg is still hard and itchy where I had a pethidine injection.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and how long it took to finally clear up? It was much worse the first month after birth and I could feel it when I was running. The bruising took around a month to fade and was the size of my hand! Now its just itchy most days.

Need to book a pill check so I will mention it to the Dr but any advice / experiences to share would be great.

Thanks

Hi there princess

I had the same thing when I had pethidine with DC3.

I had a massive bruise on my leg for about 2 months. Even when the bruising went down I still had a really big hard lump on the side of my leg. I remember it waking me up some nights when I turned over in bed.

I must have had the lump for well over 6 months, it got smaller over time then just went.

Now PG with DC4 and just remembered to make a note-No pethidine for me this time.....

I had my baby 7 weeks ago and the bit were I got the injection is still slightly numb but its getting better

Not itchy, or pethedine, but I do have a numb patch where I had an anthistime injection as a teenager. Now 33 so I think I'm stuck with it! Also causes slightly odd senseation in a different part of my thigh if caught the right (or wrong!) way, most odd. Hope yours clears up.

Good luck pintofmilk with DC4.

Sorry only just remembered this thread but thanks for the replies. It's still a bit itchy but sounds like it's normal and will get better in time.
