How many nights in hospital after a section now?

Is the norm a one night stay now rather than two? A couple of friends who have had sections recently, have been discharged after just one night.

The norm is 2 but some trusts are trying to do an acclerated discharge

I stayed two with my first and all being well, will be out of there like a shot this time around. The consent forms I signed (in 2011) stipulated that I must stay in for 48 hrs.

My hospital is doing enhanced recovery this time so hopefully home within 24 hours! So happy as I hate hospital food and being a patient and just want to get on with things.

I had section fri, was given the all clear saturday, only left on Sunday due to my baby requiring meds.

I had my section 9.30am Friday last week and was out by 5pm Saturday under the enhanced recovery programme. When they first mentioned it I thought I'd hate it but in actual fact Iwas desp together home due to postnatal ward noise and heat!

That's great that they do that I think thanks for replying xx

Wow, when I had a section nearly 15 years ago I was in for 5 days and that was about the minimum time.

13 hours first one .. 24 hours second time. I could have stayed longer but post natal ward not really a restful place to be.
