Hi all,

I am 39 weeks today, and have had diarrhea since Tuesday. It's not excessive (not like gastroenteritis for example) but is runny yellow diarrhea, usually after eating and accompanied by stomach cramps (preceded normally) . I've had no other symptoms except tiredness, and have been hydrating heavily on purpose.
Can anyone shed any light? Is this normal or should I be worrying? I mentioned I'd had it during the day when I saw my MW on Tuesday evening and she thought it might be an impending sign of labour, but so far no other signs and no let up in diarrhea.

Help please!! Thanks

if you feel pretty well (ie not sicky and ill) then I would say it is progesterone working on your bowel and part of late preg/early labour. If you also feel ill I would pop to gp and check it out, or just rest and drink fluids - as probably a mild gastro bug.

I had noro virus at 39 wks with my 3rd - my whole family did (gross!!) but it started labour and i ended up giving birth v.fast - with accompanying expulsive activities (not highly recommended!!) So have a rest and look after yourself - if no accompanying ill symptoms I would go ahead and symptom spot to hearts delight!! Hope it all goes well for you!
