Vbac experienced doula in central/north London?

Hello, having talked over my birth ideas with my husband I now realise that we have totally different ideas of what attempting a vbac entails (ie if I say I'm in pain, he thinks he should demand we cut straight to Caesarean. Er, I was thinking more along the lines of some verbal encouragement and a back rub).
Anyway, now thinking perhaps I should have a less emotionally involved advocate in with me and so am considering a doula. Does anyone have any recommendations as I find that doula website a bit inpenetrable?
Thanks,
Pol

Put a call out for Pupuce - she'll help you out....

I don't know about Vbac experience but Marslady is a doula in N. London, and I couldn't think of a more lovely person to help you through labour than her.

Thanks for all these suggestions. I have actually had an exchange with the lovely Pupuce before who told me to CAT her, but I didn't know how to do this! Er, a bit stupid of me, evidently but will now get in contact with both her and Marslady. I'm really torn because part of me doesn't want to invest anything, emotionally or financially, in a vaginal birth because I don't want to end up disappointed.
Sigh

spent my entire pregnancy gearing up for VBAC - read and devoured all info and really psyched myself up - did visualisation too! prepared myself physically and mentally and it was worth the time and investment - i knew that i would be devastated if didn't happen so wanted to know that i had done everything possible to ensure it.....got to be POSITIVE !!!!

TO CAT - you click on the 'contact another talker' bit at the top of the page and MNet sends a message from you....couldn't be simpler!!

I managed to find CAT thanks and have sent an email to Pupuce and Marslady ("Dear Marslady..." sounds very odd in an email).
I see what you mean Lulumama about being positive. I think I'm a bit sceptical because I was very positive and well prepared first time round so I'm taking a more fatalistic approach this time. On the other hand, it doesn't seem worth going for a VBAC unless you're really going to go for it. At the moment, I'm in a bit of a half-assed worst of both worlds, hence belatedly thinking of hiring a doula.

well go for it! i was so empowered after my VBAC ! and still feel like it over a year later - it changed my life! so much so i am on the way to becoming a doula myself!! good luck xx
