C-section - Nick Wales v Keith Duncan - Chelsea & Westminster

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me to decide which of these two consultants would be the best choice for an elective C-section please? I had a VB via NHS with a bad experience, hence the decision to go private this time for my 2nd. I met both Nick Wales and Keith Duncan and they seem very good. Nick Wales appears to have the better bedside manner, but I have read great things about the scar results that Keith Duncan achieves. Has anyone had any experience with either or both please? Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

Nick Wales is lovely - very down to earth and chatty and immediately puts you at ease, but I don't have experience of him with c-sections so can't help you on that front.

I too have read that Keith Duncan does the best c-section scar in town! He also does scans (he scanned me), so I guess that could be cool to have your own Obst do your scans. I had read in the past that he doesn't have a great bedside manner, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw him for scans - he was quite chatty (whereas I'd imagined him to be stand-off-ish).

To be honest, I would just go with your gut instinct as both seem to be highly experienced and supremely competent in what they do. I think you could be totally confident in whichever choice you make.

There's nothing between them except the fact that Keith does your scans (as mentioned) which is great as you never see anyone else. Both are lovely and you can't go wrong.

Hello, I didn't have a C-sec or deliver privately but went to Keith Duncan for private scans. I found him to be very professional and pleasant. He took his time to sit down with me after each scan and explain what everything meant. I know lots of people who have had C-secs and natural deliveries with him who were very happy. It is true, his scars have a reputation for being very neat but more importantly his experience with high risk pregnancy and specialism in fetal medicine were what appealed to those I know.
