I know people often come here asking for experience on different hospitals.
I just had my pfb and used the birth centre there. I have mild anxiety and had a quick, intense labour.
I was terrified it would be traumatic or something ... However although physically painful (of course) and faster than I thought happened I felt very well cared for.
The midwives were calm and professional - very good at explaining things to someone a bit out of it with labour! All choices were presented as questions not pressure. The facilities were so clean and modern! Most importantly they were genuinely enthusiastic and kind.
Afterwards they were very patient and helpful re feeding etc.
Anyway, I thought I would share this as it was such a wonderful gift to be given by the team! If you are lower risk in West London and considering St Marys birth centre I do hope this helps.
