Panicking! Am I in labour?

Lower back and lower tummy pain coming in waves for about 40 minutes, stopped me getting to sleep. It's like strong period pains. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow ELCS booked for week commencing 6th October as had previous EMCS with twins. Should I call hospital or wait it out and try to sleep? Scared of going into established labour and something going wrong and needing another EMCS. Laboured before but was failed induction so feels different I guess?
Anyone any thoughts??

It's possible but you might not be. Please phone the hospital as they will be much better equipped to advise you and they really won't mind you phoning - that's what they are there for.

Don't panic. Time the contractions and call the midwife/ ward asking for advice. Depending on their response, get some sleep.

Good luck!

Thanks both, I called hospital they want me to go in now! Is probably a false alarm but better safe than sorry I guess. xx

Just to update you...I went in and was there all night! They wanted to keep me for a few days to monitor but they did an internal and my cervix is still closed and contractions are not increasing, just staying the same so decided to come home. Got date for ELCS yesterday and they seem to have brought it forward to Wednesday 1st - if I make it that far! If not, I'll go with a VBAC if all is going well. Wish me luck! xxxx

Good luck and enjoy the baby snuggles.
