I am 39 +6 today and WAITING!

It is really driving me mad!

Had a mini sweep yesterday (consultant tried but I said stop as it was too painful and she immediately stopped). Not sure if it was a sweep or if she hadn't even started properly...)

Had a bit of show (from time to time a tiny bit).

2 cm dilated

Otherwise NOTHING.

2 cm is that a good sign?????

I will get induced next Wednesday.... But hoping for a natural birth before..

It sounds positive to me! Keep busy watch some crappy movies get some walking done or cleaning and enjoy it for a few days more, I know it feels like a lifetime but before you know it u will have baby, think I was 3 days over with my 1st baby,12 days over with 2nd and 3 rd arrive 2 hours after his due date! Don't know if you can manage it but sex always brought on my labours! And yes it was the last thing on my mind too lol but worth a try. Have a nice meal out maybe? But if you think about it this way in less than 2 weeks you will defiantly be a mama!

I hear you! 40+1 here and i just want baby out now...

2cm was better than me at 40 weeks. :) I'm 40+6 tomorrow: getting my first full sweep Saturday.

Why were you given a sweep before 40 weeks if you don't mind me asking? I thought we're only supposed to have 3 total, so they save them for when you're dilated enough and late/over the 40 weeks IYSWIM.

I had a sweep at 40+2 refused because when they examined me they decided it was not favourable enough and would be a waste of a sweep! Pain for nothing. I had a 'stretch' instead which released a load of brown mucus, FX got things going as I'm back at 41+1 for what (if I've not gone into labour) I hope will be a proper sweep.

Duh just did the maths, you'd be swept virtually daily if they started at 40 weeks to fit them in before induction. Blush But no wonder it hurt!! Hopefully it still worked- as I said my stretch seems to have done something...
