This is still really heavy after 16 days. Normal or should I see the doctor?

It is common to have heavier and/or irregular periods than normal when they do resume, for months on end. Some women find that their first periods after baby are so heavy that they use both pads and tampons due to the flow.
Since your hormones are still regulating, you can expect your period to be different for a few months—lighter, heavier, longer cycle, shorter cycle—than you are used to. Your body is still adjusting during these cycles, and your hormones are returning to normal. However, if you are worried, or thinking it is not normal, be sure to check in with your doctor.
Acupuncture is a great, natural and safe option for cycle regulation. Just make sure if you go down this path, you find an acupuncturist who has a special interest in this area.
