37 weeks and pains - normal..?

I'm 37 weeks and a day , 1st baby so no idea what's normal.

I'm so sore in my lower belly, sharp pains but not like contractions , just like pains low down inside, I get them walking and some sitting positions

If I lie on my side it not sore then

Is this normal near the end, maybe just weight of baby etc.

It's pretty uncomfortable to walk at time due to it

Also when baby moves about it can be pretty sore

Do you think maybe these pains means baby might come soon..?

Gosh I hope so

I think - obviously I can't say for sure - but that sounds more like just pelvis pain from being heavily pregnant. I remember that from around the same time onwards. The baby is getting heavy, you're at full term and they're pressing on your pelvis and various ligaments and nerves. It's not easy to carry a baby around!

Nope not SPD I've got that quite bad anyway but this pain is more like the bottom of my stomach /uterus hurting

It's prob just weight of baby though I guess

I'm hoping it might mean baby shows up early.

Is it "lightning crotch"? I have this. I just scared people in Tesco by clutching my lower bump and muttering a swearword! Grin Kind of feels sharp/electric shooting from lower bump into crotch. Ouch!

Bad news is I've had it off and on for 3 weeks (am 39 weeks).

Could be round ligament pain? the sling of muscles running down and under your bump at the sides get very stretched, when baby grows it worsens, and as baby drops it can add pressure again. Do a google on round ligament pain, you'll get better explanations tha mine! I find it can be like a pulled muscle or stitch...

I'm 39 weeks and have the exact same pains, literally even right now! I think it's just the weight of the uterus Sad

That's normal. It happened to me from around about 35/36 weeks and it didn't mean labour was imminent I'm afraid - DC1 hauled out by ELCS following three day failed induction at 40 + 10

I have similar, usually in the same place and often worse at night, or when I need to pee. The midwife just put it down to ligament pain and maybe Braxton Hicks as well. I know all to well how you stop everything and wait to see if it turns into something...then nothing happens! 38+3 now and have had this for about 1.5 weeks now.
