Tens machine

Hi

Can anybody recommenf a TENS machine to me ? I've looked online and have ended up really confused by all the choice ! My pregnancy brain just feels overwhelmed.

My MW suggested renting one but I am equally happy to buy.

I hired a Mama Tens and it was great. It was about 20 to 25.00 from an internet site and you had to post it all back in a jiffy bag within a certain time (delegate this!). They send it about 2 weeks before your due date and if you reach the point you would need to return it and haven't used it, you call and get an extension free.

You can get one via the midwives service but I think when I got mine, it was really nice to have a lovely and very new model. I know there's a lot of demand for the ones the midwives or children's centres have!

I bought a Boots Tens machine from eBay for about £25. Worth every penny for me and now I lend it to all my friends.

Thanks for replies...at least I have an idea what to look for now ! My hospital don't have them - so my MW advised I get my own.

I was advised on here to look in eBay,,I got a mama tens for about £25, then ordered new pads for £10-in total I've paid about the rental charge but I won't have the hassle of having to return it by a certain date!

I hired one from Elle online and it was my BEST FRIEND (for 3days)!

I bought a Babycare obi tens. It wasn't much more to buy than rent and thought I might use it again. I only had it on the lowest level but it got me through all my contractions until I was fully dilated and getting in the birthing pool as only pain relief. I'm not even sure I had it on right - should have read instructions before contractions started!

yes, get one, any one - beg, borrow, hire, buy, just get one! I bought an Elle babycare and couldn't have managed early labour without it. Cousin is expecting in 5 months so she can use it next! Make sure you (and birth partner) know how to work it. Try it out beforehand on lowest setting, on your forearm or leg so you know what it feels like and how to operate it! I was going to hire it but for £10 more (using online discount code) it seemed better to just buy - look out for deals/offers/discount codes online/in shops if you have time. Good luck!
