Doula in Dorset - any doula experiences?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my first and simply terrified of birth. I've booked hypnobirthing classes as a way of keeping me as calm as I can be and I'm also thinking of getting a doula to act as a reassuring presence during the birth. I'm struggling to find a doula that serves my area, there's one but what she says on her website doesn't really make me think we'd be on the same wavelength.

I'd love to know your experience of having a doula, particularly if you were terrified of birth.

And, if anyone can recommend a Dorset doula I'd really appreciate that. Smile

Loved my doula. Was an amazing experience and she was a wonderful support. I interviewed 3 and contacted quite a few till found someone I clicked with. Had traumatic first birth and was so glad I had the doula for support the 2nd time round. look carefully on doula.org.uk at profiles.

I can only find one that does my area and what she's written on her website doesn't make me think we'd click. Doula.org lists three but the other two have dead links so I assume they don't do it anymore :-(
