Do second babies come earlier than first?

Mine did but there's no guarantee on anything. First was one day before due date, second was three days before.

Mine did. DC1 at 40+6, DC2 at 38+4.

Mine didn't, neither did my sister's actually. I think statistically first pregnancies are longer though.

I hope so! I'm 38 weeks today with number 2 and DS didn't arrive until 42+1!

My second was later than my first. Both overdue.

I'd convinced myself #2 would be earlier too so it was a bit of a shock to pass #1's 40+3 with no baby.

Mine didn't. Both went 2 weeks over and needed inducing. 2nd baby was much easier to induce though.

Slightly but still overdue for me!

I was very concerned about this with dD2 (DD1 was 3 weeks early)

Doc was very unhelpful and told me DD2 could come earlier, same time or later. He gave me a 6 week window for her arrival .

In the end she came at 39+2. The wait felt eternal....

Dc1 born at 38+3
DC 2 born at 40+4

Mine didn't. Dd1 2 weeks early, ds2 1 week early, dd2 6 days early.

Dc1 came at 38+5, dc2 came at 39+0. So dc2 was later, but only just.

DC1 40+18 (induced)
DC2 40+11 (induced)

So not in my case :)

My first was a week early my second was a week late and induced. Such a contrary child still.

Mine did. Ds was two weeks late and induced. Dd was a week early.

ds1 2 weeks early
ds2 induced 1 week over due date

My consultant said there's no pattern, it'll just come when it comes. But mine did - DC1 I went into labour on due date, born early next morning (40+1). DC2, 39+2.

No - sorry! Ds1 was 10 days late but came naturally. DS2 was induced - 14 days late.
