Well would you believe it. We have just had DD's 2nd Birthday party and the contrations started.

Doing fine currently though they are already getting closer together.

Luckily DD is now asleep and my Mum was helping out with the party.

Wish me luck!!

My friend's two children were born on the same day - 4 years apart. That's always a mad day in their house Good luck!

Beabea · 19/09/2006 02:05

He was finally born at 23:44 last night so they do have the same birthday.

Mother and son doing well.

I'm here. Things all slowed down for a couple of hours which really peeved me off. So after isolating myself and chilling out a bit my waters broke around 6pm and things didnt really stop from there. I had to get on with it on my own for a good bit as Bea didnt want to settle down to bed. She obviously knew that something was going on. Finally the pool was filled by my Mum and Step dad whilst DH sorted Bea. MW arrived and I got into the pool around 7.30 or 8pm. Tried to breath through the contractions but they were getting quite painful. I just couldnt get comfy, mainly due to the carple tunnel syndrome and leaning on my arms on the edge of the pool. Tried gas & air but that didnt do anything so gave up. At about 10.45pm I decided to get out of the pool. The MWs then changed shift but I didnt really mind. They were all really nice. I then felt the urge to push whilst kneeling on the sofa. A few good pushes using and he was out. Popped between my legs and I had him in my arms. Georgous Matthew William had arrived weighing 6lb 10 at 11.44pm on the same day as DD. Also on a slightly sad note just an hour earlier than my miscarrige a year ago. What is it with these dates!

Really happy and had a reasonable night with good feeds. Really chuffed about the BF as I was hopeless last time. He is very content and I hope that continues.

DD woke up when we brought him upstairs. So she said hello briefly and went back to bed. This morning she has been fantastic with him. She is besotted and wants to hold him lots. Stroking his face and hands so gently.

I think that is about it.

Aw that's brought a little tear to my eye Beabea, how lovely
I'm due in 9 weeks and hope DD is as loving and gentle with her new brother or sister as Bea is
