2nd time round c-section

Ok, this is more for advice than anything else...

I had a three day induction followed by a pinto in drip after ds was ten days late with my first. Ended up being an emergency c-section due to complications with labour.

To be honest, that wasn't a problem, but I'm so freaked out about going into labour with my second that I've already decided to have a second c-section. Has anyone has a similar experience and then been ok, or had 2sections? Experiences and advice for 2nd time round. Thanks

I had 2 C sections, second time was hard on dd1 because I could not scoop him up and give him a big hug as I used to...he was 2 so did not understand why. So the advice would be to make sure you get out of the habit of picking up dd1 so they don't miss it when you can't.

Ive had 2 elcs... All fine both times, in fact recovery was better second time if anything. Just don't be a hero and get as dh/dm to do as much as they can. I was getting dd1 dressed (she was just 2) on day 3.

If that's what you want stick to your guns.

Just had an ELCS last week - my first was an EMCS. Totally different experiences, EMCS being horrible and terrifying with a slow recovery, ELCS being peaceful, chilled and lovely and I was helping DS1 (2.2yo, almost 13kg) out of the bath four days later. He does ask frequently for 'cuggles' (i.e. pick me up) but I showed him my scar and told him mummy was sore, and he was very understanding, which surprised me as he's not the most verbal little thing. I do miss picking him up, though

2 sections here. 1st was emcs with a good and fast recovery. 2nd sort of elective (had a few days notice but had no option for a vbac due to prematurity). Amazing, super fast recovery. Honestly, no painkillers at all after day 4. Driving after a week, lifting toddler about the same time.

I had an induction and third degree year first time round then an elcs with my twins (they wanted me to try for a vb as twin 1 was head down initially) . Loved the elcs. I was in for 4 days as my dh was in on the medical wards with a mystery weakness illness- couldn't even do up a baby's babygro poppers and I was keen to get bf both established with a bell to ring to pass the second baby . I held dd then 19 months on day 5 post section with dh taking the weight under her bottom so I didn't have to do the pick up and put down bit or the full weight. I was driving by day 16 and no painkillers bar paracetamol from day 6 as diclofenac on an empty tummy gave me d&v, that hurt and very pleased with the decision. If I have another, single baby I'd hope, I'd have another elcs I think.

I had my second 10 months ago. I (again) went into prem labour before it had been agreed.
I got to 5 cm and they carried it out. I had alit of scar tissue and I lost alot of blood. I was very badly bruised and it took a goid 8 weeks to recover and I was pretty fit before hand.
I still made the right choice.

Ive had two sections, both planned. The first section was my first dc, recovered quickly and up and about in a few days. The second section was horrendous, its been 5 weeks and i still feel like ive been hit by a bus. Ive had two normal vaginal deliveries inbetween. I dont think you can know how you are going to feel after it really. I assumed i would be fine after another section and it was the complete opposite!

Had emergency section first time followed by elective 21 months later. Recovery for both fine although second meant a longer stay in hospital but that was as a result of other complications as opposed to the section itself.

First section was an emergency one. Second was planned and was much better. Much less stressful and recovery time was a lot quicker. My first DC was just over 2 when DC2 was born. I spent the last couple of months of pregnancy getting her used to climbing on my lap rather than being picked up, which came in useful afterwards.

I had an Elcs two weeks ago. Able to pick dd 2 up a few days later.
