It's arrived 6 weeks after 4.5 months of breastfeeding and it's painful, heavy and lasting forever (6 days still heavy and counting.) is this normal?!

Yes, sounds normal! If you feel the bleeding is going on for too long a time then see a doctor. I think my first post birth period was reasonably normal but my first post miscarriage period was very heavy compared to usual.

Mine came 4 weeks after stopping bf (when DS was 6 months) and it was very heavy and painful. DS was back to back so I felt all of my contractions in my lower back and that's exactly where the period pain was. Hoping that the next one's easierSad

I had two periods in one month when baby was1 month old... It'll settle down

I had this too - from what I now understand thanks to google it's fairly normal. My first was 8 days long, massively heavy. Second was very heavy, also 8 days, third was heavy, but tailed off by 7 days.

In my case it's harder to tell as I had a copper coil put in 12 weeks pn, but I didn't get my period back until DS was 10.5months due to breastfeeding.
