Had two - ds1 two years ago and ds2 12 weeks ago. Went through all their options from hands-off in the birthing pool to forceps in theatre, and an elective cs tis time... All good, people lovely can't fault except for one really scary midwife in Mary Rose centre...

my experience was four years ago now and I understand a new head of midwifery has come in since so I won't bother to tell my story; just to say I wasn't impressed; Mary Rose centre floor left my feet BLACK after walking round while in labour.

midwives seen over period of three days neglected to say ANYTHING positive to me during a prolonged, back to back labour.

But had a crash CS that went well, no problems with ds or infections for me.

Am not under that hospital myself but heard of a few people who have been there over the last few months & all positive experiences. Have you looked up their rating on the internet?
As an aside, if your partners in the navy they are very supportive &understanding as have dealt with lots of navy mums & different issues they face....may not be relevant though!!!

Had dd2 there just over 3.5 years ago. The hospital itself is old and tired, for want of a better expression, but the midwife care I got there was absolutely fantastic.

Hi just seen this. DS1 (5)was born in the hospital itself and DS2 (10mths) was in the Mary Rose. Both times I thought care was great, looked after us really well. Left us alone when I wanted to be, were there when I wanted them.

My births were both easy and uncomplicated though, but I've never heard any complaints, and everyone I know who has had a baby in the Mary Rose can only say how good it is there.
