Post Pregnancy Blessing restarted 8 weeks later!

Had babygirl 8 weeks ago now, bleeding seemed to subside at around 3 weeks, with a bit of brown discharge which trailed off. Then last week I bled for a few days, and it stopped for 2 days and has restarted. It resembles a period but I am EBF and they've stopped and started so surely not a period? Had a first degree tear with a few stitches which seem to have healed ok.... Any ideas?!

I similarly stopped the post part un bleed after about 2-3 weeks then had what I thought was a period about 5 weeks later even though I was EBF. I never had it looked into but didn't have another one until about 6 months later.

Not quite same as either of you but actually been to the GP today. DS2 was born 10wks ago today and I haven't stopped bleeding yet. It seemed to trail off and go brownish at 6wks, which was a relief, but 24 hours later I was woken in the middle of the night to find I'd soaked through pj's and sheets with bright red blood. Assumed it was my period and heavy to make up for the 10 months off, but it hasn't stopped since. Ten weeks on, I'm fed up with it.
Maybe I'm ignorant but, having been in theatre straight after delivery due to a retained placenta, the D&C type procedure I had surely would have meant I was cleaned out pretty well and a lot of what l'd normally have lost under different circumstances removed?
Had two 1st deg tears, which were also stitched in theatre, and have healed perfectly.
GP ruled out any infection but has taken swabs and is referring me back to the hospital for an ultrasound and various tests.
Was put on the mini pill 3 weeks ago, which may have contributed to it, but surely even a 3 wk bleed on the pill isn't normal.
Very anaemic in pregnancy (had infusions but still had a 2.5L PPH), but been told my FBC is now back in the normal range.
Whole thing is frustrating, unpleasant and a bit worrying too.

The bleeding is bright red again, and quite heavy. Maybe I should book an appt with my GP. I thought when EBF your periods take a lot longer to start too?

Thought I heard that too about taking longer to resume, maybe worth looking into.
My surgery does telephone consultations, which prompted the appt, but if you have something similar, it might answer your questions staight away.
I've had to bottle feed for various reasons, so can't really share anything similar.

Could be your period I'm afraid. I ebf an got mine back at 5 weeks.

It could be your periods restarting - while some women are fortunate enough to be period-free while ebf, many are not. Hence why you get the contraception talk from the midwives before they sign you off.

I started bleeding again at 8 weeks, having only stopped with the post child birth bleeding a week before. Realised that it had been the return of my periods exactly 4 weeks later, which was weird as my cycle had never been particularly regular before.

I did get a few months without periods after DS2 but not many. From talking to friends it all seems to be a bit random. One of my friends, who bottle fed from birth, had 6 months period-free after her baby!

My periods restarted at 6weeks post baby even though I was EBF.

They can be all over the place and not like 'normal' periods for a while after birth but they won't necessarily stay away just because you're ebf.
