Hello,
I'm pregnant with my first child (hooray) but it's too early to discuss with friends so am trying to figure out which hospital solo ! My choices are St Mary's Paddington, UCL or Queen Charlottes. I'd be really grateful for anyone's advice / experiences. I think we're going to splash out and have a private midwife, if that makes a difference to your reply.....
Many thanks.

I was an NHS patient at queen charlottes and I was treated impeccably.
If I were to have another baby, I'd pay good money to go there again. I was always seen on time, always treated equally to private (and older, I was 19) patients.

When I went into labour I was comfortable, looked after and allowed to birth in a private room. After the birth, they let me stay overnight in said private room (en suite!!) and also let my partner at the time stay so we could bond properly and get the hang of feeding etc.

Highly recommended from me.

Congratulations!!! Thanks

I'm at UCLH and the hospital service has been ok and their midwife led birthing centre looks very good, community midwives in my area have been terrible. if you're hiring a private midwife, I suggest neighbourhood midwives. they are great!

UCH was absolutely amazing during the antenatal care. We needed extra scans and few other things, I hardly can think if anywhere I could get better. They are also trained in hypnobirthing if you fancy that option. Postnatal care is average, as everywhere in London, I highly recommend to get a private room if you stay in hospital overnight after birth (whichever hospital you choose)
