Hi all,
I have a (prob very silly) question about being on the ward after my c section. I was just thinking about knickers and catheters and bleeding (on my!) Do you put on underwear and a pad when you are returned to the ward after recovery if not does this mean that you just bleed onto the bed?? Apologies if I sound very thick but this question has just popped into my head and after a hit of googling I can find no definitive answer! Thanks

First CS I had was at 9am and had the catheter out at about 10pm the same day...... spent the night struggling to the toilet and back trying to pee......
The second time (CS at 2pm) I asked to keep the catheter in overnight and had it out first thing the following morning..... and actually got some sleep
Third section- I will be aiming to keep the catheter til the following morning.
I was on an inco pad and had a big wodge of padding tucked between my legs til the catheter was out too. Then was able to switch to knickers. own maternity pads and pj bottoms by myself
