First period after birth ??

Not too sure if I've posted in the right place and probably too much information but here goes..

I got my first period about 3/4 weeks after birth
Normally I bleed for 2 days would say heavily-ish then spot for up to 4 days max, I'm now on day 11 it's really really bright red and getting heavier.

This is my third child with my first two i had no change in duration.

I've tried looking online but not been able to find much that explains what I'm having as I'm not passing big clots, I've only had a couple tiny ones not even the size of half a pea :/

I should have an appointment for the 6 week check for me and baby through in a letter soon so was going to wait till then ?

Any advice would be welcomed thanks :)

Hiya, every pregnancy can be different, my periods took quite a while after having my son to go back to 'normal' I had a few that would last about 11-12 days and then down to 3-4 in the end which was shorter than before I had him. I would call nhs direct on 111 for a bit of advice if you are worried they can be quite helpful. If they continue to be a pain in the bum id probably ask about microphone unless your breast feeding in which case they'll give you a different pill (which I can't remember the name of) just to help regulate your periods, that's what I did as they came very irregularly and where quite lengthy. Hope that helps :)

And I wouldn't worry too much about the clots I got them a lot after having my boy, but mention it to be on the safe side :) x

Are you sure it's a period? It could be Lochia which can stop and then start again if your over doing it.

Thanks for the messages, it's defiantly my period. Was really really heavy this morning but it seems to have calmed down for now hopefully it's stopping
