Periods after childbirth

DC is 6 weeks old and I'm exclusively BF but I seem to be having a period. Postnatal bleeding stopped 2 weeks ago. This period started on Thursday and definitely seems period-like rather than lochia or other bleeding.

NHS doesn't seem to think this is normal but a search of threads here suggests it is. I'm seeing the docs later this week for 6 week check but I wondered if I should be worried?

How heavy is it? My dd2 is 5+5 weeks and I also stopped bleeding over two weeks ago so expecting it very soon but I'm formula feeding. The fact you've had a two week break suggests it is. Unfortunately breastfeeding or not periods can return from 5 weeks.

I'm pretty sure it's a period - it's nothing at all like lochia and there's no flooding or clots so pretty sure not a PPH. It's just I EBF DC1 and didn't have a period for 9 months!

EBF for six months now and had a period at about 10 weeks (I think). Nothing since but was definitely a period, with my first dd I had nothing till about 11 months, seems a pretty normal thing to happen I don't know why NHS thinks otherwise, I really wouldn't worry.
