1st period after childbirth

Lochia stopped on day 22, now day 34 and I'm sure my period will arrive any day. I'm eff, does that sound about right? My six week check isn't until next week, but if it does arrive before then, can I use tampons? I had a section. Also, do I need to prepare myself for a blood bath?!

Marking my place.
I'm baby is 6 weeks today and thought period would have arrived by now?

ShatterResistant · 19/05/2014 20:49

Mine was 11 weeks after birth, and I thought that was quite soon.

Mine were all around 6/7 wks and the first few were hideous. I don't see why you can't wear a tampon. I didn't purely because I was having to change a pad every hr for first few days.

I bled for a month after birth (lochia?), then nothing for a couple of blissful weeks Grin then period. So, 6-7 as pp ^^

My periods used to be very heavy, since dc they're three days of pfffft nothingness!

My first period after dd1 was hell on earth. I was re admitted thinking it was retained products it was so heavy, but no just a period Shock. I'm 5 weeks since dd2 was born, so I'll expect the blood bath. Going to stock up on super+ tampax today. Yay :/

6 weeks with dd, 12 with ds.

I was ebf with dd so no guarantee.

The first couple were light rather than my usual agony and blood bath though.
