Just want some positive stories as am losing the plot to keep going!
40+5, second baby, 2 sweeps in 48 hours, baby fully engaged, cervix soft and nearly 3cm dilated already! Anyone had similar and had their baby soon after second sweep??? I want baby out but still no signs of any contractions/active labour!

Following as I'm in a similar situation.
I've had one sweep yesterday at 40+11, baby only 3/5ths engaged, soft cervix, 3cm but not thin enough yet.

Then had a show this morning.. fingers crossed.

With my first however I had 2 sweeps, zero effect, had to be induced and ended in forcible eviction via EMCS at 40+16. But rest assured it was all a very civilised affair, all positive in the end. :)

Good luck, do you have an induction booked? Still nothing happening here despite loads of walking, bouncing, curries etc etc! I guess they just come when they're ready!!
My first came at 39w so I wasn't expecting to go longer this time....

Confused I'm only 39+3, had a sweep yesterday and really want this baby out (first Dd born at 40+4 10.5lbs- second DD predicted to be bigger ConfusedConfused hence trying to get things moving early).

Anyway I asked the MW to do a really thorough job Wink
She said all looks good, 2cm dilated, bishops score of 4. I was thinking yesterday yay! This could be all it takes! But woke up this morning and nothing. Not a twinge. No show. No aches. NOTHIIINNNGGG.
So fed up.

Had 2 sweeps with Dd one at 39, one at 40. Still took another 4 days after 40 weeks so not sure if that was just coincidence. I've just had enough now.

Have you got another sweep booked? Apparently 2 in 48 hours is meant to be effective. I started having very mild contractions 48 hours after the second sweep which came and went for the next 24 hours. Then it turned into proper regular contractions Saturday at about 9pm, unbearable painful ones at 3am and DS born at 3:25am. Currently in newborn heaven.
Good luck, hope it happens soon.

Ohhh congrats spiral! Just noticed this is an old thread oops!
Yes I have another booked for 40+1.
Wish I could have had another today or tomorrow. Will just have to be patient. Enjoy your squidgey newborn EnvyEnvyEnvy x
