Driving after a C-section

Hello all, just after some advice please.

It was my understanding that we can drive 6 weeks post CS (which I am) if we feel up to it. However, my friend has said I need to ring my Insurance Company (Admiral) and clear it with them?

I have seen one website say that women must wait until their post-natal check before they can drive, but mine is still over 3 weeks away!!

What did everyone else do?

glaik - I was an emotional mess in hospital, even if I'd had a conversation about driving or given any literature, I wouldn't remember Grin

I drove after two weeks. My insurance company said that as long as I had been cleared to do so by my doctor then I was covered. I saw my GP who was very understanding as his wife had just had a section a few weeks before mine. He asked me if I felt capable to drive, I said yes and he said that he would note in my records that I was ok to drive.

The doctor just phoned me, asked about my general health and my wound and then said it was fine to drive again. Yay!! I'm desperate to get behind the wheel but I have nowhere I need to go Grin
