I had a sweep yesterday, which was followed by some spotting, as they'd warned me. today have been panicking about the fact that I'm rhesus neg and the fact that often they give you anti-d after bleeding. I assume I wouldnt have needed it after this? didnt think to ask at the time and not always convinced they check to see my rhesus status - when i went for my 34 weeks anti-d i was asked why i was there - couldnt believe they hadnt looked on my notes!!

I don't know much about the rhesus neg/anti-d thing sorry, just wanted to bump this back up into active convo's for you

Hopefully somebody will come along soon who does know xx

I didn't have it after my sweep in my first preg. Only need it if chance that blood from mum and baby have mixed. Spotting after sweep likely from your cervix so no anti D I think.
Just phone them if you're worried and ask.
Are you post dates? Good luck, hope you go into labour soon!

thanks sallyrosie - it is bleeding from the cervix and does seem to have stopped now so I guess there wouldnt be any 'mixing'. I'm only 1 day overdue but hopefully......

yep, remember it well! I ended up being induced at 10 days over after loads of false starts - was a relief to be going into hospital knowing that the midwives wouldn't send me home (again) and I'd be leaving with a baby
Induction wasn't great though - you don't get a slow build up of contractions, more like 0-60 in 10 mins. Ouch and thank goodness for epidurals.
Hoping I go into labour spontaneously this time!! (35weeks now)
