Does this sound like early labour or just being overdue?

This pregnancy is very different to my one with ds and right up to now (officially overdue) nothing has been the same.

The baby is apparently 4/5 engaged, but I've put on a lot less weight than with ds and the weight of the baby has constantly been pressing down on something and hurting a lot.

I've been getting strong tightenings - so tight I have to hold on to something - but they seem to only happen when I'm sitting - which is making me assume that it's to do with where the baby is as opposed to anything interesting happening.

I do however get the feeling I'm going to have a very bad stomach soon - It's all terribly rumbly! (sorry if tmi!) which is what started me off with ds... but apart from that it went straight into contractions. No show, no waters.

Is being overdue just painful?

It can be. Try and rest. That should speed things up.

Will be watching and waiting for news.
