Are they on or off? Funny how certain things freak you out isn't it?

My ex gave a running commentary of my various bits of viscera and organs as they popped into view. I didn't mind, I am inured to such things Grin.

Just read through this thread and it brought back the horrors of reading through another similar one.

This sort of thread can be similar to googling. It is everyones unique and different experiences all rolled into one. It is really important to remember that if you are having a C section that it is between you and your doctors and hospital what will actually happen.

The main thing is communication and negotiation. If you have a problem with knickers off ask for them back on or you covered up as much as possible, same with pain relief, there are many different options available.

I got so stressed with what i had read everywhere about what a c section is i had put myself off having one, but compared with a natural birth the invasiveness "down there" is (or can be) minimal if you need it to be.

To those who say you wont mind, or it doesn't matter because you can't feel it this is an incredibly personal thing. Past experiences of being violated "down there" can have a massive impact on your reaction to people being around there ever again. The lack of control and feeling for me, will be making it worse not better. Please be considerate of other peoples unique experiences..

rant over.

I didn't know whether I was being stitched up, cleaned, arse in the air or whatever because there was a big screen up and I couldn't see or feel anything

But you know they're doing something. I spent the whole time thinking 'I've been cut open, below that screen I'm wide open' followed by 'oh my god, oh my god'
But you know they're doing something

I was the same as Raskova - I was more preoccupied with my insides being on display! You can't get more personal than someone rummaging about your internal organs.

By the end of my hospital stay i felt that my entire body had been on display and (man)handled by everyone, I couldn't care who saw my noobs or whatever. But did, if you see what I mean. Talk about losing your dignity at the door (as people like to forewarn you).

I don't think I've ever been quoted on here before! Unless someone's tearing apart what I've previously said yay!!!!!!

You really don't need to worry. What happened to us doesn't mean a thing. You could be totally different. As long as you go in calm and relaxed I promise all you have to worry about is the next 18 years of raising the beautiful child you give birth to Wink
