Loong early phase

I've been timing contractions since about 3am. Was doing quite well breathing through them and using my tens machine. They've been consistently a minute or more long but intervals were jumping about between 5 and 15 minutes.
I went to bed to try and rest and they've become even further apart, more like 35 to 40 minutes between the last few.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a false start? Sad

I had this with DC1, it wasn't a false start, it just took ages to get going. No advice, just keep trying to get some rest before it gets more intense and try not to get too stressed. Good luck!

Thanks Lones, I wasn't sure if resting in bed had caused contractions to slow. Do you think activity will kick start things again?

It wasn't a false start for me, but I started off like this and DD1 wasn't born for about 72 hours. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear.

My advice, personally, would be not to try and force things to get going. Or to alternate a period of activity with some long periods of rest. I was so brainwashed about getting upright and active and all that that I wore myself out far too early.

I had this too with dd... actually I felt like I had several "false starts" with her, and every time I lay down and rested it all came, more or less, to a halt again. The good thing was that once she finally did get going properly, she was quick quick to arrive, so I think the loooong stage was definitely "doing something".

Good luck Flowers

Thank you for your replies, I called labour ward and they advised to rest. As soon as I laid down a contraction came Smile
Bit concerned that my waters may have gone v slowly without me realising due to damp pads so going into the Assesment unit in a while to get checked out.
