Any positive induction stories out there?

Hi I am booked in for induction for reduced fetal movement tomorrow ( I'm not overdue yet) and am petrified of the induction! Ss born after lovely quick natural delivery on gas and air in a pool. Am so scared this is going to take ages, be excruciating and end up in a section anyway. Any good stories out there? Thanks in advance!

16 days late, lovely induction with the drop, I could walk/stand/sit up despite monitoring. No pain relief, not even G&A, DC arrived after 7 hours. Really enjoyed it! Did hypnobirthing CD for last few weeks which I think helped.

Been induced twice at 37 weeks, due to my health. It's fine. Mostly it's boring as it can take ages to get going. Accept lots of pain relief and esp an epidural if you can...if they give you a drip to accelerate the contractions you'll be glad you did.

You'll be carefully monitored and the main thing is that you're baby will be delivered safely. And a c section is Ok too.

Don't compare to last time...this one's probably going to be different, and for the good reason that everyone is taking extra care of your baby. Just focus on the outcome of a healthy baby! Good luck x

I had a great induction with DD2. It took 3 hours and was a picnic compared to DD1.

Thanks ladies. It's just so weird knowing that tomorrow it all going to start happening after a spontaneous labour last time. Feel very underprepared in terms of mental headspace for not only a different labour to what I was expecting but that I'll have another baby soon! Sounds silly but dreading leaving my 18 month for days on end as well, although he will be spoilt rotten by grandparents. Was hoping for a quick spontaneous labour and be back to son in no time. Never mind as mentioned as long as have healthy baby at the end it doesn't matter how he comes! Thanks!

Mine was fantastic, 39 weeks and induced due to size. I went from cervix closed and unfavourable to holding DS in 12 hours, no intervention, one pessary. I was able to move around other than a couple of stints on the monitor and progressed very quickly despite all the horror stories!

It was quite intense, but I had a very quick second stage (ten minutes) so no complaints!

Mine was fab too, went in 11am, pessary, no signs til 10pm when waters popped, labour then thick and fast, 4 to 10cm in 50 minutes, baby born at midnight... Went home twelve hours later, super fast and no doubt much the same as yours will be, it's your second so induction goes better once your body has done it once so they say!

I was worried about leaving little one for days, as it turned out i didn't need to x

Thanks for all your reassurance last night- have had the most awesome labour- induced ( pessary, tampon thingy) at 1250. 4 cm at 1815 so taken to labour room, baby born at 1831!!!! Was so quick so no time for pain relief but do-able as only 15 min- nearly had my gorgeous baby boy in my leggings! Such a brilliant experience especially for an induction! Thanks again!! X

I've had two inductions. two weeks late on baby number 1 and baby number 3.

both straight forward normal deliveries. I did prefer to go into labour naturally on my second as I felt that the pain is more gradual but other than that, nothing bad to report :)

I had an epidural on the first. Gas and air on the second. I'd recommend an epidural if you can have one. No pain whatsoever!!!
