Woke up at 5am with really painful back ache and so much pressure I can't sit down or stand still, I had a show at 7am and the back ache is coming in waves, the pressure is really intense, is this labour because if it isn't I don't know how I will cope with the real thing as this is agony!

Sounds like it! Mine started as very low back ache - do you know if baby is back to back? As it sounds like back labour to me .. Good luck! X

I've no idea if baby is back to back but I'm hoping it's not a long labour as I'm crap with pain!

Sounds promising

Sounds like it. If there is that much pressure I would phone labour ward as my labour felt like that and progressed very quickly.

Thanks mcbaby, I've called them and they've advises me to take some paracetamol, and see how I go as apparently this stage can take hours.

How are you doing puggywug ? If you feel that you need pain relief call back and insist on going in. In my experience they will try to fob you off for as long as possible and it is sometimes necessary to stamp your feet a bit!

Wasn't too bad 11hrs in the birthing pool with gas and air then had to get out for an epesiotomy, less than 10 mins later baby Finlay was into the world! Quite a few stitches but he was well worth it.
