Do I have to buy a dressing gown for hospital? I will never use it again.

3rd baby. Each time previously I've gone and bought a dressing gown, wore it during hospital stay then ditched it. It's just not something I use normally.

Is it essential? I can't really remember what it's purpose is.

I took one but didn't wear it this time as it was roasting on the ward.

Oh I love my dressing gown's, I have 4! :)
But you should just take whatever you feel comfy in. A hoodie would do.

I took mine and used in it the hospital - but I was in for over a week after the birth.
It got chucked soon after though. It became known as the 'dressing gown of death' and neither DP or I could get over the association of it and my being so ill.
I only wore it because I couldn't put clothes on properly.
