Birth plan for VBAC: what to ask for?

Hi, I had a EmCS that was partial maternal request last year. I am now 35wks and would very much like to try for a VBAC this time. I am under the care of a fabulous consultant this time and due to discuss a birth plan soon: what should I ask for?

While I don't believe birth plans are exactly looked at, let alone faithfully adhered to, it's really the only opportunity to get things down 'officially' and agreed between us.

Would love advice from anyone who has been through similar.

Also, if anyone knows a way to make the birth plan points salient to the staff who will attend me on the day would be grateful - I just can't believe they actually get it out of my notes and read it...

When I planned my VBAC attempt I included my preferences re - CFM or intermittent monitoring, wishes re pain relief, and the usual for any birth eg feeding the baby, vitamin k, etc.

I really don't want constant checks, would like to be in the pool, don't mind CFM IF I can move around - so intermittent better. They have one wireless but depends on it being available so don't want to get too keen on that in case not possible.

I've just done mine - need to add it to my notes. Anyway, it just has typical things really. My consultant has said they would move more quickly to a section this time. I don't want an epidural, want to avoid forceps but in an emergency, like last time, would agree to anything.

Mine basically comes down to one sentence which is do not ask me to make decisions or have any sort of procedure unless DH is there. I'm going to write that clearly at the top. Everything else is more or less out of my control.
