Hello,

I'm 37wks pregnant and have a lot of pain in my left hip, crotch side.

I know this is because ligaments are listening, but it's really uncomfortable.

Any suggestions for relief welcome, thank you!

A warm bath or heating pad? I remember this well and it's horrible, especially when trying to get to sleep. This issue did not recoccur with second pregnancy in my case. You are nearly there!

I saw my physio about this and he suggested some exercises that seemed to work. First is to lie on the side that hurts and place a tennis ball under the pressure point (bloody hurts). Second was to stretch out the hip by lying on floor with leg of painful hip tucked into sideways v in front of you. Third was easiest and most effective. Put a string or band around your legs, crouch a bit and crab walk sideways for 30s on, 30s off for 3-5 mins.
These probably sound really vague without photos or a demo but maybe you could look some up online? Or better yet, see a physio.

Just re-read your post and realised my pain was outer hip, not crotch side. I didn't think a heating pad was advisable in pregnancy?

Thanks for the advice!

I gritted my teeth, and it seems to have gone now to be replaced by lower back pain Confused

Lower back? Are you sure it isn't labour?
