Hospital bag - help!

I'm 26+3 and trying to pack a hospital bag. My plan was to take my new changing bag for labour and just after, and leave a backpack at home with some other stuff incase I'm in for a while. We only live 10 mins from the hospital so it's not a big deal for DH to go home for stuff as long as its already packed! Just checked the nhs website for suggestions on what to take and it's just so much stuff! It includes 3 changes of nightclothes just for labour! And 24 maternity pads!!! And 3 bras!!!! Surely I don't need all of this straight away? I have checked previous threads on mumsnet but still can't get my head round what I really need. Don't think evian facial spray is really me... Will I need a suitcase and will there even be somewhere to store one? My brain is fried - help!

Ear plugs. It is noisy on the ward and you will want to sleep. I am also taking an eye mask this time too.
Phone charger.
Flip flops to wear in the shower.
Squash to mix. I was gasping after dd and they like you to keep your fluids up. Maybe a water bottle easier than a glass.

The one thing I found I needed was extra grows. I had packed 3 grows and vests as advised but had a very mucusy baby and got through these in hours. He was sick all over his hats and gloves too. We didn't have nearly enough clothes for him and loaned some from the hospital. I actually didn't even have my bag with me initial as it was a EMCS and then had to give DH a list of things to bring for a 3 day stay. It's a good idea to pack a bag at home for a longer stay in case u need it. He bought me the wrong leggings and tshirt and I was not happy!!

Oh and a straw! I really struggled sitting up to drink !
