labour type pains 5 weeks after giving birth?

Is this normal? Dc number three but never had this before.

Getting cramping pains but much more than period, more like labour (the bit before gas and air though)

Any thoughts or experience welcome.

I remember periods returning after DC1 with excruciating labour-style pains. Not sure of timing though.

Am sure someone knowledgable will come along in a mo!

Surprised noone's been along to add to this. Just going ask Dr Google and see if there's anything on there.

OK. I've found this NHS link which suggests you should be due for a check up with your GP (I don't remember this with my two but I suppose it's all blur at that stage) so if you haven't made an appointment already, see if you can get one now. It does mention some pain on there as being normal too.

Are you drinking enough? Very important to keep hydrated, especially if breastfeeding.

May not be anything to do with that, but here's a bump in case anyone else knows. Hope you're feeling better.

I had the same and was told they were after pains. They really hurt.
