Waiting waiting waiting!

I'm currently 36 + 5 with my second baby and had assumed I would be induced at 39 weeks (medical necessity), which has been the plan all along. Now, I've been having regularly spaced but not painful contractions for 36 hours. The nurse at my appointment yesterday said I had a "good labour pattern going", and this morning I had the show. But the contractions aren't really progressing and I just want to know what is happening! The doctor said to come in when the contractions are stronger, which is clearly sensible. I don't want to sit in the hospital for ages waiting anyway. Anyone had a similar experience? I just wish I knew how long it will be!
